Xavier’s players were very happy after gaining their victory in the second round. On Sunday, they were able to prove themselves by joining the round of 16 after defeating the Lehigh 70-58.

Kenny Frease, one of the best players in Xavier, said that they had the talent but they also need a click and they got that so they were able to get their Sweet 16. In the match, the highest score was obtained by Frease. He scored 25 points in that match. Frease praised his guard who gave him the best position so he could make the points.

Gabe Knutson of the Musketeers said that he tried his best to defend Frease. Compared to the Xavier, the Lehigh were less attractive. They were drought for about 6 minutes in the second half. There was no player could score a point.

The top scorer of the Lehigh, C.J. McCollum said about his team’s failure.

“I just missed some shots tonight, and offense is going to come and go. We still have to get stops on defense, and we didn’t do that tonight.”

“Lehigh is a very good team, but they’re also small,” said Chris Mack, Xavier’s coach . “I’m sure they don’t face the type of size that Kenny presents. We just wanted to be able to get the ball to Kenny, and fortunately he was able to finish.”

Just a couple of minutes after the podium ceremony, Brad Keselowski tweeted his winning moments in Bristol Motor Speedway.  The racer quickly went to his Twitter account after grabbing his second straight victory in Bristol.  

He had predicted his winning through Twitter before going to the wheel chair. Keselowski wrote in his Twitter account that has more than 250,000 followers: ”best car I’ve ever had in cup.”

Keselowski said it is really cool that he could post his moments of victory quickly. He said timeliness is really important nowadays.

“ I’d like to see that get faster, and the right people are working on it. When it does happen, it will be less than a half hour,” he said.

Keselowski only had trouble when he needed to avoid a crash that involved a number of cars on lap 24. With only 17 laps left ahead, he scooted down the road and left his tough opponent, Matt Kenseth.

Speaking about the car crash, Keselowski was thankful that his team helped him dodging the bullet.

Kenseth then finished second, while the third position was secured by Martin Truex Jr.

Michigan State and University of North Carolina won the third round in NCAA tournament for the first time since three years. The North Carolina, placed on the 11 seed in the Midwest Regional,  defeated no. 3 Georgetown University 66-63. Meanwhile, the number 1 seed in the West, Michigan State, managed to defeat Saint Louis University 65-61.

North Carolina makes sure their step ahead by beating Georgetown from the free throw line in the last seconds. North Carolina State University is the top Seed no 11 in Midwest. The other teams were also in action to make sure their position in this tournament. Lehigh beat Duke and they have to face Xavier in Greensboro. Norfolk State will face Florida in Omaha.

No. 1 seed in the West, Michigan State, beat Saint Louis University with 65-61. The third Seed Florida State will meet Cincinnati. South Florida will face Ohio in Nashville while Kansas will face no.10 Purdue in Omaha.

The Tar heels will face Ohio University or South Florida in final 16 after beating Creighton. The top scorer in the game was Kendall Marshall. This player had 18 points to make sure that his team will go on to the next round. The other key players in the game were John Henson and Reggie Bullock who scored 13 points, Harrison Barness with 17 points and Tyler Zeller with 11 points. On the other opportunity, Michigan State secured a victory over Columbus after Keith Appling scored 19 points while Draymond had 16 points.

In the final minute, Appling had four free throws to make sure Michigan state will be in final 16 against Louisville, fourth Seeded, in Phoenix. Wolfpack also moved on to the final 16 toll face either Kansas or Purdue in Midwest Regional semifinals.

Kansas State University was defeated by Syracuse University with 75-59. University of Kentucky defeated Iowa State University with 87-71.

The new iPad aka iPad 3 aka iPad HD will begin to offer for sale on March 16 on midnight at Walmart. It is good news for those who can’t wait any longer to clutch the third generation of iPad as the Apple stores usually open at 08.00 am local time.
The 24 hour Walmart store will start selling right at 12:01 am on March 16. This store will not only sell the new generation of iPad but also the iPad two with a special price for only $399.

Another place that offers early sale for the new iPad is Best Buy in Union Square, NY. Just like Walmart, Best Buy will also start selling iPad at 12:01 Friday. The customers can make line started at 10 pm, according to the tweet of the store.

RadioShack, Target and selected Sam’s Club Locations are also among the stores that sell iPad at 12.00 am Friday.

Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, UK, Switzerland, Canada and France as well as Puerto Rico and US Virgin Island will also have their first iPad new generation on March 16. The other 25 countries will have them a week after, it means on March 23.

Two NBA centers JaVale McGee and Nene were among the players who were traded in the last minute of NBA trade on Thursday. Nene moves to Washington after spending some time in Denve while Wizards’ JaVale McGee was sent to Denver. 

Lakers got Ramon Sessions of Cleveland and sent their Derek Fisher to Houston. Stephen Jackson and also Richard Jefferson were swapped in Spurs-Warrior deals. On the other hand, NJ Nets took Gerald Wallace from Portland.

Nets general manager heard that Howard wanted to be traded and Nets was on his first list. Nets themselves has been favoring Howard for a long time. Howard could make his choice in this summer but it seems like Howard  will be still in Magic till 2013.

Howard said that now they can go back in basketball with peace and chance to win a competition. He feels like having the chance and did not want to give it up.

Rod Blagojevich enjoyed his last day on March 15, 2012. This former Illinois Governor was followed by the media when he went out from his house to serve 14 years ahead in jail. 

Blagojevich’s departure means the end of his campaign. Though the punishment looked tough, he is still optimistic about his future.

Blagojevich was jailed after charged with corruption. The former first person of Illinois was bounded down from his home where there were a lot of cameramen and also reporters as well as photographers around him.

He shook hands almost with all the people he met during his departure. Many people shouted encouragement. The owner of a steak house where he ate also shook hands before telling Blagojecivh to “stay strong.”

He also made his speech with optimistic tone and somewhat defiant. He said that he was leaving with heavy heart, clear conscience and he had high hopes for his future. He also said that saying goodbye was the hardest thing to do.

His wife and children were not sending him off though he was picked up in his house. He flied with American Airline flight to O’hare International airport. He would be in Englewood jail which there was also other high profile prisoners like Jeff Skilling who was CEO of Enron who got 24-years of sentence for fraud.

Renowned comedian Gallagher had a heart attack at a club in Texas and is currently treated in a hospital. According to the report, Leo Anthony Gallagher Jr., a comedian known for his messy act of smashing watermelon, had a heart attack when he was ready to perform in Texas club. His promotional manager, Christine Scherrer, said she could not tell how the condition of Gallagher until tomorrow.

The 65-year-old comedian is reportedly recovering well. He is currently hospitalized in Dallas-area hospital. Gallagher suffered a heart attack when he was about to give performance on Wednesday. He suddenly fell down while walking to the stage of Hat Tricks club.  The manager immediately called 911 and he was quickly rushed to the nearest hospital.

The manager said due to this incident, the scheduled performances in a number of places such as Oregon and Oklahoma have to be postponed. As for now, Gallagher is in hospital accompanied by his family.

Last year, Gallagher also suffered a heart attack when performing in Minnesota.

 Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald is no longer the biggest contract receiver in NFL history after Calvin Johnson signed a new contract worth $132 million with $60 million guaranteed.

Johnson was not a free-agent when he signed the deal that will keep him at the Detroit Lions for the next 8 years until the 2019 season.

Previously, Larry Fitzgerald held the title with his  $120 million with $50 million guaranteed contract.

Johnson is reportedly happy with the new contract.

“It wasn’t a lot of confrontation. We weren’t butting heads or anything. It was just something that we knew needed to get done,” he said.

Calvin Johnson is popularly known as “Megatron” due to his strength.He had a spectacular achievement last year when he caught 96 passes for 1,681  yards and got 16 touchdowns to lead the Lion entered the playoffs again since 1999.

In NFL history, only Randy Moss, Jerry Rice and Johnson that are recognized as players with at least 1,600 yards, 15 touchdowns and 95 receptions in a season.

Jim Schwartz, the coach, said Johnson is “truly a special player.”

“Whatever they pay him is not enough,” he added.

Another All-Pro, Guard Carl Nicks, another All Pro, signed a contract worth $47.5 million with Tampa Bay. He resigned from New Orleans and will keep in Tampa Bay for the next 5 years.
